2010 Guidelines for Sale
There are three different auction categories: “Intent to Purchase,” “Sealed Bid,” and “Silent Auction.” When you view the 2010 artwork, you will see that each piece is labeled as to auction category.
Bid by Proxy
In the event you would like to bid on artwork but are unable to attend the events in person, you may Bid by Proxy. To bid by proxy, register on the web or contact Jennifer Lee at the Museum at 307-732-5412 for more information.
Intent to Purchase
In the “Intent to Purchase” category, each item has a fixed price and winners are selected by random draw. If you wish to bid on an item in the “Intent to Purchase” category, place your bid slip in the appropriate box next to the artwork. On the night of the sale, one slip from each box will be pulled. If your slip is drawn, you have won the lot and are committed to purchase the artwork.
Sealed Bid Auction
In the “Sealed Bid” category, there is a reserve price below which bids will not be accepted and the highest bidder must purchase the artwork. If you wish to bid on an item in the “Sealed Bid” category, your bid slip must include your name and the highest price you are willing to pay above the reserve. The person with the highest bid is committed to purchase the artwork.
Silent Auction
In the “Silent Auction” category, bids are cast on an incremental bidding sheet. If you wish to bid on an artwork, place your sticker next to the price you are willing to pay on the bidding sheet. Please only use the stickers which say Silent Auctionto place your bids.|
If you are the winner in any category, you are required to pay the winning amount. All sales are final, and there are no exchanges, refunds, or substitutions. Only one slip per person is allowed for each piece of artwork in the “Intent to Purchase” and “Sealed Bid” categories. |
Tax Deductibility
According to IRS Rules and Regulations, the only tax deduction for the purchase of auction items from non-profit organizations is the amount paid in excess of fair market value. We suggest that you contact your tax professional to determine the tax deductions (if any) for your specific purchase(s).
Payment
Payment is required at the time of registration. Dealers with resale permits are tax-exempt. We accept the following credit card types: American Express, MasterCard, and Visa. Sales tax will not be charged if the piece is being shipped out of state; however, by law, you are required to pay sales tax to the state where the item is shipped.
Shipping/Pickup
The Western Visions Miniatures and More show will remain on exhibit through Sunday, September 26, 2010. No artwork will be dispersed prior to September 29, 2010 at 9:00AM. After that date, artwork will be distributed. If you have requested your artwork be shipped, please allow a few weeks for delivery after September 29.
