Chris Bacon grew up in the visually rich worlds of Fiji, Ascension Island, and Bermuda. He began drawing at an early age. He and his family immigrated to Canada in 1974, settling in Burlington, Ontario. He exhibits his work throughout North America, Europe, and Japan. His meticulously rendered avian paintings have won worldwide recognition and acclaim. He has received six Awards of Excellence from the Society of Animal Artists, as well as the 1996 Elliot Liskin Memorial Award for painting. He was honored to receive the prestigious Master Wildlife Artist Award at Birds In Art® in 2004 and 2008. Also in 2008, he received the Trustee’s Purchase Award at Western Visions.
